Let's Begin
Recently my son and daughter have told me to start blogging. I am not a good writer so I wonder what they had on their minds. My son suggested that I write about all the funny stories I told as they grew up. My daughter suggested that I write about my experiences. Then the most terrible thing happened this Christmas. My Mother died the day after Christmas. Mother would have been 88 in two more weeks. As I write thank you notes for the kindness of others I thought again about some of the stories Mother told. How I would hate for these to be lost forever. Then today a friend who I had not seen since Christmas was asking about Mother. I told him a couple of stories and the first thing he said was write these stories down. My gosh!! Does lightning have to strike me? I guess not. So tonight I set up my blog. I will begin.Eighty-eight years ago Jan. 12th my grandmother gave birth to twin girls. They each weight 8 lbs. which is very unusual. They also were on time and not early. Marian Eudora Grisham came first and Miriam Eugenia Grisham came second. She is my mother. She says because Eudora was older she was the boss. Which is really funny because Dorie says that Eugenia was the boss. This is just a few things that they disagreed on.I know they were identical twins because if you put them together you would have one perfect person. Eudora is the writer and verbal person while Eugenia was the artistic person. Eudora was the English teacher, poet, business person while Eugenia was the homemaker, artist, seamsters. They also looked exactly alike. My grandfather, their dad, could never tell them apart. Mothers are different and Mamaw, their mother, always knew who she was talking to. Although she had her trials too. Raising twins was not easy. They were always the center of attention. Just think two beautiful little blonde haired, blue eyed girls that looked just alike and had lots of personality. Yes, they were always the center of attention. They came into the world drawing attention and continued always to be the center of attention. They just could not help it. If you knew them you know what I mean. Not that it was bad. Really it was fun to be in their presence. People noticed them and that made them easy to be with and talk with. Next post I will begin by telling some funny story. Hope you enjoy my meandering.
